New Roots Competition

The Young'uns have been extremely successful at the National "New Roots" Competition. Fifteen finalists met to play in front of an established set of judges in St Albans during the summer of 2007. The standard was extremely high and despite having a 'testing' journey down to the south, The Young'uns were very successful and attained 'four' concerts and a huge amount of recognition from all in attendance. We have kept in touch with many of the other performers and we hope that the competition will continue to encourage other 'young' musicians to get involved in folk music. Other successful finalists included Anna Louise Etherington, Ciarian Algar, Katriona Gilmore & Jamie Roberts and many others.
