The Young'uns are a Hartlepool-based folk and maritime trio, recognised locally, nationally and internationally. The group comprises Sean Cooney, David Eagle and Michael Hughes.
One of the very few young folk groups to still sing traditional acappella music, Sean Cooney, David Eagle and Michael Hughes are three very fine singers who perform with passion and gusto. Their music draws from many aspects of the folk tradition and Sean's superbly crafted local songs ensure that their sets are energetic and well-balanced. The Young'uns latest album "Plastic Cod'eads" has received an abundance of praise from folk enthusiasts throughout the UK and in Europe. They can be seen at the Inter Varsity Dance Festival, Shepley Sping Festival, Cleckheaton Folk Festival, Warwick Folk Festival and Shrewsbury Folk Festival in 2010 and many folk venues throughout the UK.
In January 2007, The Young'uns also founded the Pot House Folk Club on the Headland in Hartlepool. The club runs on a fortnightly cycle, with each night taking the form of a singaround. Full details can be found on the clubs website: The Pot House Folk Club . Come and join us and you will be gauranteed to be made most welcome.
